The Sword and the Sorcerer imageThe Warrior and the Sorceress

You ever see A Fistful of Dollars? This movie was the Sword and Sorcery version of it.

David Carradine plays Kane (surprise, surprise), a warrior who goes into a desert town with one well. The town has a problem - a lack of water. So you have two factions fighting for control of the well, and you have the innocent townspeople who are the victims in the feud.

Just like A Fistful of Dollars, our hero Kane infiltrates both sides, playing them against each other and making money with each kill. Add a sorceress who never wears a top as the heroine and a sword and sorcery setting and you get this flick.

Carradine is cool. He plays his part perfectly. The fat bad guy plays his part perfectly as well. The sets looked like something a community college drama class put together, and the props looked high school level.

The movie has three saving graces - Carradine, Socas' limited wardrobe, and a dance scene, which I won't give away here.

Just like The Sword and the Sorcerer, if you don't like the 80s S&S genre, don't bother. If you do, it's watchable. The horrid sets however detract from Carradine's fine B-movie performance. Rating - 3 out of 10
