Jimi Hendrix - wrote the book Randy Rhoads - always played the perfect notes. Loved the noises he made on the guitar and his fills and well as his leads Yngwie Malmsteen - the King of flash Steve Vai - the most versatile Ritchie Blackmore - If you've heard what he's done with Deep Purple, Rainbow and Blackmore's Night, you'd be impressed. His acoustic playing is phenomenal Alex Skolnich - technically gifted. A pleasure to see perform CC DeVille - not that good, and should be better considering how long he's had to hone his craft Phil Collin - Decent for what he does. Adequate guitarist Paul Loomis - Amazing player. Has an incredible command of the instrument. His rhythm work is also quite good Paul Allender - Better than adequate. I prefer his riffs to his leads Glenn Tipton - Amazing guitarist. One of the most underrated shredders out there KK Downing - Slayer calls Judas Priest's duo the best guitar duo out there for good reason. KK's noises and harmonic dissonance compliment Tipton's melodic style Galder - Nice mix of melody and evilness. I wish Dimmu Borgir would have more leads in their work David Gilmour - It's a tough call who makes the prettiest guitar sounds, whether it's Ritchie Blackmore or David Gilmour. Jake E Lee - It was actually sad he followed in Rhoads' footsteps. He never was able to shake that. I actually thought he was decent. Slash - the last guitar hero Kirk Hammett - Between Satch's three most famous students, he's the worst, yet he's still good. Ironically, he's by far the richest. Jason Becker - What a shame. Took one lesson from him too, and wish I still had the notes from the lesson. Amazingly gifted. Fate can be quite cruel. Joe Satriani - The teacher. BB King - shows the world you don't have to be flashy to be good. Who doesn't like him? Tony MacAlpine - I wish people would stop comparing him to Malmsteen. MacAlpine's style is unique. Marty Friedman - I actually liked Dave Mustaine's playing better. Although Friedman's solos are more technical, Mustaine's are more brutal and fit the music better. Still a fine guitarist.
