I kept hearing from Metal fans that of all the bands, Manowar has the most loyal fans. Yet, I never heard one song they did. Until now.

I'm a member of eMusic.com, which is a good and bad thing. I actually like them a lot, but I'd rather own CDs than mp3s. Granted, you could always burn a CD from mp3s, with CDs, you get the artwork, the liner notes, and usually an idea what the band looks like.

Anyways, I bought Warriors of the World from eMusic and was pleasantly surprised. I expected an album heavy throughout, but instead, half the songs were Heavy Metal, and half were other, from symphonic instrumentals to operatic arias. A few of the songs almost sounded like Queen.

The variation works, and this has been in my car's rotation for days now. Each listen, I like it more and more too. All four of them are good musicians, and Eric Adams has an amazing voice.

As I'm allowed 30 song downloads a month for $9.99, I'll eventually pick up everything Manowar ever did that they put up on eMusic. The only downside is Manowar's album covers are awesome. I love the Sword & Sorcery motif, despite all the cynical whiny bitches calling that stuff cheesy. Well, you all suck. You can all listen to Radiohead all day and complain how unfair the world is. Meanwhile, I'll be enjoying life with Manowar in the background.
